During this year’s Game Developers Conference, The MIX celebrated their 10th anniversary by showcasing a variety of exciting games. They have done, and continue to provide an excellent platform to developers and publishers through their presentations.
Whether the player is interested in obscure indies, survival horror, or unique platformers, The MIX has something for everyone. There were far too many amazing games to highlight every incredible entry, but here is a short list of games that stood out during the showcase.

Soundfall
Soundfall is a fast-paced dungeon crawler that combines looter-shooter action with rhythm-based gameplay. Players choose one of five guardians to defend the world of Symphonia from the evil forces of Discord. Wield incredible artifacts, powerful weapons, and discover the secret origins of music itself.
Go it alone in single player, or play with up to four other players in local and online co-op. There are thousands of unique gear and weapon combinations for players to experiment with during their dungeon crawling escapades.
Soundfall is developed by Drastic Games and is set to release in 2022 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. You can view the latest trailer here.

HIGHPOINT
HIGHPOINT is a lighthearted multiplayer game with fighting mechanics where two opposing teams brawl in order to control a ball. Players attempt to outpace, out-punch, and outscore each other to win. The game is very reminiscent of Rocket League, if Rocket League were a bunch of robots pummeling each other.
The game features a mixture of airy visuals, sports teamwork, simple fighting mechanics, and physics-based animations. Some arenas are also suspended, meaning players can send their opponents over the side, a la Smash Bros. Players can customize their Bot to show off their personality.
You can see the latest trailer here. HIGHPOINT does not have a release date as of yet, and intends to be released on PC and consoles.

Have A Nice Death
Have a Nice Death is a 2D action roguelike where you play as Death, CEO of Death Incorporated, who is teetering on the edge of burnout. His executives, the Sorrows, have been running rampant, leaving him buried in paperwork. Death will need to traverse the various departments in order to remind his subordinates who’s boss.
Players can master over thirty spells and weapons as you traverse the gorgeous, hand-drawn scenery of Have a Nice Death. The combat will feel familiar to veterans of games such as Hollow Knight.
Have a Nice Death is developed by Magic Design Studios and is currently available in early access on Steam. You can view the offical early access launch trailer here.

Card Shark
Card Shark will teach you real card tricks and manipulations as you fleece and cheat your way to the top of 18th century French society. You will need to play your opponents better than you play your cards in this game of cunning and intrigue.
Players will master deceptions including marked cards, false shuffles, deck switching, false deals, and more. Use these skills to cheat your way to the top and earn a spot at the King’s table.
Card Shark is developed by Nerial and is slated to release in 2022 on PC and Nintendo Switch. You can view the latest developer gameplay walkthrough here.

Coromon

This Pokemon clone was built for fans of the franchise, but who want more of a challenge. The game comes with a built in Nuzlocke mode (a mode self-imposed by fans that includes limitations such as perma-death) and a variety of adjustable difficulty settings that players can manipulate to create the experience they desire.
Coromon is developed by TRAGsoft and is currently available on Steam with Nintendo Switch and mobile versions coming at a later date. You can view the launch trailer here.

Submerged: Hidden Depths is developed by Uppercut Games and is available now on PC, Google Stadia, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. You can watch the trailer here.

Smalland
Smalland is a multiplayer survival game set in a vast and hazardous world. The player is the size of a tiny insect, surrounded by lake sized puddles, skyscraper sized trees, and massive creatures like birds, rats, lizards, and spiders.
This game immediately resembles other popular survival games such as Ark or Grounded, in which players must work together and tame the wildlife in order to survive. Players will need to craft weapons and armor, build bases and shelters for survival, and discover hidden NPCs scattered throughout the world. There are PvE and PvP elements to Smalland.
Smalland is developed by Merge Games and is set to be released in early access soon on Steam. You can view the official gameplay trailer here.
